Lucie Stahl presented the latest rendition of a do-it-yourself book she had been developing over the last several years. Each iteration of the publication was produced in response to various personal and social situations. Rooted in her Posters project, the book is comprised of photographs that explore Stahl's ideas of collage, found objects, and portraiture, and reflected her experiences in Los Angeles. The Posters are digital images constructed with a scanner, which are then "framed" through layers of polyurethane. The scanned objects were collected, purchased, and sourced as the artist moved through the city, and the detritus of her environment was then assembled within the confines of a poster plane for archival consideration.
